Jira Rules of Engagement

This is not necessarily Jira specific, but most of my experience is with Jira due to long time exposure.

  • No tickets are unsigned
  • Tickets are assigned to the person who needs to take action, see also “Avoid depeche tickets”, below
  • Tickets are either open or closed

  • Avoid depeche tickets, unless
    • You assign for assistance
    • You assign for review
    • You assign for clarification
    • You assign for test
  • A ticket should be deployable
